  • 450g Strong white flour,?plus extra to dust
  • 2 tbsp Caster sugar
  • 5 tsp Baking powder
  • 4 tsp Black onion seeds
  • Coriander, small handful, chopped
  • 300ml Semi skimmed milk
  • 4 Garlic cloves, crushed
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil


  1. Put the flour, sugar, baking powder, onion seeds, coriander and salt into a large bowl and stir. Heat the milk and garlic until just warm, pour into the bowl and mix to a dough. Knead well to bring together.
  2. Divide dough into ten and roll each portion out on a lightly floured work surface?to an oval shape.
  3. Heat the oil in a large pan over medium?heat and fry the naans for approximately?5 minutes on each side, until golden?on both sides.
  4. Serve immediately, or cook in batches?and warm through the over for service.
